It all began in 1989 at Purdue University. Bruce and Twilla Herr were and still are proud Boilermaker’s.

  • In 1993

Our life long journey proliferated when we purchased our farm in Jackson Township, Wells County, IN. With our oldest daughter Acacia we built our first “chicken house” in cooperation with Hy-Line International housing 30,000 layer chickens.

  • 1994

We got our second daughter Sadie and our first flock of layer chickens producing eggs to hatch.

Along came our two sons Zane and Abraham and in 2001 we built our dream house and a pole barn. Originally used for our sheep, pigs and honey production. This building has been overhauled and is now the production area of our winery.

  • 2011

We began yet another dream come true, row crop farming corn and soybeans

  • 2012

We took the opportunity to build a second chicken house as an opportunity for our kids to come back to the farm.

  • 2013

We added onto our “sheep barn” for more space to increase production. This portion of the building is now the Dash 90 Wines tasting room.

  • 2014

Twilla finally got the opportunity to work on the farm full time and we were blessed with our youngest daughter Annie. This is when the first batch of homemade wine was produced!

  • 2017

We planted 400 grape vines, covering about an acre. This included Catawba, Traminette, Marquette, Seyval Blanc, and Brianna vines.

  • 2019

We decided it was time to move the sheep to another barn and move wine production out of the basement for good. Concrete was poured and the production area was finished. The tasting room was still used for farm equipment storage.

  • 2020

We put in a second driveway on our property as an entrance to the winery, as well as began finishing the tasting room. Additionally, our old pasture fence was put back into use but this time as trellis for Concord grape vines!

  • 2021

FINALLY our Farm Winery Permit was approved by the TTB. We could now begin purchasing equipment, making wine and designing a logo and labels for our bottles! We had a few one day “pop-up” sales throughout the holidays to sell some wine.

  • 2022

We began regular hours at Dash 90 Wines on May 26th.
